The purpose of Project Spay/Neuter is to promote spaying and neutering as a means of curbing pet overpopulation; thereby reducing homelessness, euthanasia, neglect and cruelty to animals. More specifically, we do this by:
- Promoting Pediatric Spay/Neuter;
- Promoting and Facilitating NBA (Neuter Before Adoption) Policies;
- Promoting the lowering of the standard age of spay/neuter surgery for privately owned pets from the old standard of six months to four months;
- Providing low cost pediatric spay/neuter for rescue and humane organizations;
- Providing low cost spay/neuter for owners with financial hardship;
- Providing low cost spay/neuter for the caretakers of feral cats;
- Disseminating information about pediatric spay/neuter and NBA;
- Providing exposure and training in pediatric spay/neuter to veterinarians, veterinary technicians and veterinary students;
- Promoting spay/neuter in general to the public at large;
- Making spay/neuter affordable to the public at large.
